Working Out

So I have started working out again. I usually do about 35 minutes of cardio everyday. The cool thing about restarting this time is that I have my iPod with me. Let me tell you that it is 100 times easier to workout with music you WANT to listen to (and not that crappy techno shit that gyms usually play).
So to give you an idea of what I have been listening to:

Tuesday’s workout was brought to you by NIN – With Teeth

Wednesday’s workout was brought to you by AC/DC – Highway to Hell, Run DMC and Aerosmith – Walk this Way, and Selected Songs from the Beatie Boys

Any suggestions for Thursday’s workout?

You need to calm down man. Working out is not a fight against the world, the weights or your body. Take some Zen to the top of that mountain and listen to some music that will inspire your mind and body positively. Try Django Reinhardt. It is upbeat, fast enough to keep your heart pumping and can’t help but make you happy, which is after all the reason for working out in the first place, right? Don’t like jazz? Well bring on the funk. Try some of the JB’s (that is James Brown’s backup band who made a couple of albums without him). Or some Bootsy Collins or even the ultimate king of funk, George Clinton. If you can’t get into all this old stuff, then may I suggest Bran Van 3000. They put some funk, soul, blues, jazz, and even some country sensibilities into their hip-hop/techno productions. My point? Don’t worry, be happy (but don’t try to listen to Bobby McFerrin while working out, his complex rhythmic structures will ruin your timing).
