Good Morning

And if I don’t see you, Good Afternoon, Good Evening, and Good Night!

How has everyone been? Good? That’s wonderful!

Me, I’m doing okay. Been really busy these last few weeks so hopefully that is a good enough excuse for the lack of updates. If you cannot except that excuse, you’re probably disappointed a lot in life. And for that, I am truly sorry and may God have mercy on your soul.

I come to you now to impart some knowledge and to fill you in on what I have been doing.

Number one on my list; Painting.
The act of putting a latex arcylic based dye over the walls of your living space. Multiple times. In multiple colors with names like Sandstone Cliff and Pismo Dunes. When painting for the first time that it truly counts (i.e. not helping dad paint the back deck) you end up learning alot. You learn that the color on those little cards NEVER matches what you actually want. You learn that at $25 a gallon, paint is expensive and spending $300 dollars on JUST PAINT ALONE isn’t that hard to do. You learn that real brushes beat those foam brushes hands down. You learn to hate edging. You learn that investing in a good edging brush makes edging a tad bit easier. You learn patience. You learn that practice does make perfect. In part you learn A LOT.

The wife and I have been painting. And we are down to our last two walls. Possibly only one more coat left. It’s a good feeling. Once we are finished with that, we can finish with the other project I have been working on and that is moving into a new place. So without further ado…

Number two on the list: Relocation.
As many of you know, the wife and I moved from Dallas to Connecticut at the end of last year. We were staying at my folks place and looking for our own place to live. We were able to find (through family connections) a nice duplex to rent in a neighboring town. It’s a really nice place that as you may have guessed from the previous section needed some painting done. So starting in December we began painting on the weekends and on December 30th we moved in. We live on a nice street with good neighbors and a big yard for the Wunder Mutt to run around in. We are both very happy with it and we feel that it is part of our new beginning.

With the move we had to shed some things from our Dallas apartment because there just wasn’t enough room to bring it. Unfortunately those were things that we kind of needed, like our desks and our bookshelf. Although they were not the most stylish of furniture pieces, they did a good job. Luckily, I guess you can say, there is an IKEA near us. As you can once again extrapolate (I really am giving you guys the benefit of the doubt when it comes to logical conclusions here, so don’t let me down) we spent some time and money there as well. I would say we made out pretty well. We purchased ourselves two very nice desks for our office, two very nice bookshelves to hold my plethora of sci-fi and cook books, and a nice little microwave cart for out kitchen. Be warned however….if you are not careful you can get lost in IKEA and never make it out alive….I hear that in the morning the send in trained hunters to kill the folks that have been stuck there a long time and have gone feral….true story…:-p

Number three on my list: Grad School
I have been researching getting my self some more edumacation. The wife has also done a ton of research as well (re: most of it!). Our basic plan as of right now is to get an MBA and then go onto something more specialized. We both feel that we are lacking in the business aspect of things and that getting an MBA will help us. There are also a lot of online MBA programs from the major universities which is helpful. Our commutes are ugly right now and having to add scheduled classes into that will keep us out of the house until 10pm at least. Not only will neither of us be pleasant people because of the it, but our dog would probably call the SPCA on us! I figure in the time it takes us to get the MBA, we will have a better understanding of our commutes, or shorter commutes! 😉

And finally…

Number four on my list: World of Warcraft : The Burning Crusade
The expansion pack came out on the 16th. I had it on the 17th. I have made it to level 62. I am no longer a priest either…I am now a Pimp. And this is my little buddy….he gives out mustache rides…$5 each!!

UPDATE: I realize now after actually visiting the site that this post is almost an exact duplicate of a post I made a month ago…can you tell I’ve been busy? Granted this post has more pictures and the word ‘Pimp’ and phrase ‘Mustache Ride’ in it!

You really had me going there, I was interested in your progress, sympathetic to your difficult and busy schedule and I was proud and excited about your continuing edumacation but then I got the number four. Come on man! Remember the real world!?!? (not the MTV show, the one that is outside of your newly painted townhouse)

Monstu, I do live in the real world. I deal with REAL stupid people and REAL stupid drivers all day long. WoW is how I relax. I play MAYBE 2-3 times a week for 2-3 hours if I am lucky. I also interact with Curns while playing. So I might be playing a video game but I am also connecting with a fraternity brother that I do not see on a regular basis.

You should play…I bet you’d have a great time! 😉

Glad to hear that you are both doing well. We think about you over here. Marcos was just telling yet another new guy about “Billdozer” today. Logan is being potty trained this weekend, come hell or high water (hopefully hell, which is much better in this instance than the high water option) Ahhhh good times…..
