November was a bust (mostly)

I blew the NaBloPoMo pretty early on as I just forgot to post one day.

I bit off more then I could chew with the NaNoWriMo. I did get a small story finished, which I will try to clean up and post for you to enjoy.

I spent 3 weeks trying to take a MS Certification exam, as the place that I tried to go kept failing to fix their issue. I finally went to another testing center and passed the exam. It totally threw off my certification plans for November and December.

Wrath of Lich King came out on the 13th. I thought I’d be smart and pre-order it online. That got screwed up as well as UPS doesn’t ship to PO Boxes and Gamestop doesn’t tell you who the shipper is when you pick your shipping method. Needless to say I wasn’t doing any new content until a week after release.

Once I finally did get WoTLK, my DSL decided it didn’t want to play nice anymore. After a slew of tickets, too many tech support calls, one tech trying to tell me that the 29 processes that AUTOMATICALLY run with Vista was the problem, and two weeks without reliable service, the Wife and I decided to switch providers and went with Cable High Speed Internet. Now instead of getting 1/10th of the speed I was supposed to be paying for, I am getting 5 times the speed for the same price. Let’s hope that continues!

Thanksgiving was definitely the highlight of the month, although it was in the midst of the aforementioned DSL problems. The Wife and I were able to have two delicious and quiet dinners on Thursday and Friday, then a more raucous dinner with the family on the Sunday following. To me, it was four days well spent.

December, thankfully, has been looking better. Some issues at work, but nothing too crazy. The Wife has finished her first semester (quite impressively I might add!) and we’re getting ready to spend Christmas in Dallas and New Year’s in Connecticut. Looking forward to spending time with both families and just relaxing for a few weeks.

I’ve got some ‘plans’ festering in my head (or that could be an infection…not sure yet) and we’ll see if anything comes to fruition with them. Obviously this is a vague hint and it will remain so until such time as it happens. It could be next week, it could be 2010.

That’s it for now.

Didn’t I read somewhere you guys both had iPhones? There is blogging software for that, and you can set yourself a calendar reminder to spend some time writing 😉 Look at me, offering blogging advice, when mine is barely updated as it is… I’m the king of hypocrisy 😉 That being said, I *have* been using the calendar on my q9 to remind me to do more stuff.

Glad you had a good thanks giving 🙂 Let me know when you’re in town, will grab a beer or 5 🙂
